5. The neighbour has told us the news.
The news were told to us by the neighbour.
6. The students painted the walls last year.
The walls were painted last year by the students.
7. The old woman feeds the pigeons everyday.
The pigeons are fed by the old woman every day.
8. They will pick up John at this office.
John will be picked up at his office by them.
9. She showed the visitors the new house.
The house was shown to the visitors by her.
10. You shouldn't throw litter on the ground.
Litter shouldn't be thrown on the ground.

Observații:
Diateza pasivă în limba engleză se formează astfel:
- verbul TO BE conjugat la timpul cerut + participiul trecut al verbului de conjugat
- poate fi sau nu însoțit de autorul acțiunii
Exemplu:
I fixed the car.
Eu am reparat mașina.
The car was fixed by me.
Mașina a fost reparată de mine.

was - to be la Past Tense;
fixed - participiul trecut al verbului de conjugat;
by me (de mine) - autorul acțiunii.
