In my opinion, these days people are in such a rush, every single day: get that one paper done, buy groceries, feed the dog, cook something, put the children to sleep, call mom. True, each of them are things that need to be done, but they shouldn't be the main focus of our lives.
"Making a living" - getting repetitive, daily tasks done absentmindedly, while thinking about how you need to do other repetitive, daily tasks later. "Making a life", on the other hand, means finding small things to be happy about, such as laughing with your friends, going out for a walk, reading your favourite book or buying flowers for someone.
Which of them should we pay more attention to? Mundane tasks, which are compulsory in life, or little special things that you don't need to do, but make your day just a bit better?
I believe we should focus on the latter. If you have to do chores, you're going to do chores, but maybe going out with your friends for an ice cream after finishing them may make you feel better about it.
