For most of the Romanian, the hostel is a nebulous idea. Some think it's a brothel, others think it's a cheaper hotel, others simply shrugged when I hear the word. The good news is that in recent years have seen increasingly more hostels in Romania, hostels that looks great (I saw a few in Bucharest, Brasov, Sibiu and Vama Veche). The bad news is that over 90% of the customers of these hostels are not Romanian. If we go over prejudice and I include hostels in our accommodation options, we find that it means more than cheap. I stayed in a few hostels in Europe and I liked the warm atmosphere, friendly people, that you can meet new people in the living room. Moreover, for solo travelers, the hostel is the perfect accommodation.
But because increasingly more people ask me what it's like to stay at the hostel and how they work and because I really like to make a link instead of answering the question, I will tell here you are eating hostels. And as he sleeps. And how to wash. And especially, how to have fun.
