As a child myself, I think it's right and wrong, depending on the situation. Personally, I don't think we are given too much freedom because we are generally supervised by our parents.
In my opinion, as long as my parents know where I am and who I am with, everything should be fine. But what does freedom mean? I suppose it means being allowed to go out whenever you want to, to hang out with whoever you want to, but children our age should know that danger is everywhere and it's always better to inform your parents on the place you're at and the company that you have.
A lot of teenagers would complain to their parents about not being able to stay out late or go to a club or something, but trust me, parents always know what they're talking about.
