Dear mom and dad,
I often think about you, trying to imagine what kind of life you have there, in Scotland. Whenever we talk on the phone, you seem happy because you make more money there compared to what you used to get for similar jobs in Romania. You also mention sometimes that you are treated with more respect and kindness than here, and that the Scots are honest and eager to help unconditionnaly.
Well, I know that your decision of leaving Romania was based on having a better financial situation, to help me and my grandparents have a more honourable life. Unfortunately, your physical absence here, with us, is the bitter price we all have to pay for.
Don't worry about me, I am not that little helpless boy I used to be. I try to study as much as possible for school and I am one of the best. Many teachers say that I am an excellent example of diligence and respect for my colleagues. During my spare time, I read a lot, I sometimes go out with my closest friends, but not before I make sure that my grandparents have all their needs satisfied. Can you imagine I have learnt how to cook chicken soup and all kinds of steaks with vegetables?
Well, this is my life here, presented briefly. I miss you a lot. But, hey! The winter holidays is getting closer and closer, and you will come back for two weeks to spend Christmas with us, which is really great.
