Thanksgiving day is a national holiday in US. Once a year, the family and friends get together and celebrate with turkey, pumpkin pie, watching parades or American football.
The first Thanksgiving was held back in 1598 in El Paso, Texas. Many peoples believe that the origin of this holiday was held by the Pilgrims in 1621, when they thanked for a rain that came after a long drought.
George Washington, the first president of the US proclaimed the first national Thanksgiving day in 1789.
