Deforestation is a big issue nowadays, at a worlwide level.
All over the world, there have been implemented policies which concern forests and how to protect them.
In our country, however, illegal deforestation has been keeping deroulating in the last decades. There is a very poor policy in our current laws that prevent that from happening.
I think change comes from people. For a greater good, we need to firstly change our way of seeing the environment, try to realise how important it really is to us and our survival. It also shelters many species of wild animals, many considered to be endangered. If their home disappears, they vanish along with them. It would be a shame.
If I could do something, I would harden the punishments for this kind of activities. When people do not fear extinction, they at least fear losing their money or their freedom.
So, we need to start changing our minds, taking small, yet secure steps towards our own salvation.
